Ableauctions to Host Manitou Galleries' ''March in Montana'' Auction on eBay Live Auctions
Ableauctions.com (AMEX:AAC - News) announced today that it will host The Coeur d'Alene Art Auction & Manitou Galleries' "March In Montana" auction to be held March 16 and 17, 2007, on eBay Live Auctions through its subsidiary iCollector.com. This event will be held live at the Townhouse Inn in Great Falls, Montana, and feature a number of notable Western artists such as Joe De Yong, Charles M. Russell, Ace Powell, William Dodge, Nick Eggenhofer and many more. Cowboy collectibles will be offered and highlights include a 1940s "Dick Dickson" model saddle by Bohlin and a double-cased pair of Colt revolvers. A number of spectacular Native American artifacts fill out the 2-day auction. Beadwork, weavings, weaponry and pipes will be offered.
Over 100 lots offered in this year's auction are from the Museum of Arts & Culture, Spokane, Washington. Proceeds will benefit MAC's Art Acquisition Fund.
A 45-dealer show will feature some of the top art, Cowboy & Indian dealers from around the country and be free admission and open to the public March 15, 16 & 17, also at the Townhouse Inn.
Manitou Galleries boasts two gallery locations -- Cheyenne, Wyoming, and Santa Fe, New Mexico. Their Santa Fe gallery represents 40 important artists offering cutting-edge Southwest art works. Their Wyoming location specializes in Western and historic art, fine sculpture and Cowboy and Native American collectibles, and conducts the "March In Montana Show & Auction" in Great Falls and "Auction In Santa Fe" each August in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
The Coeur d'Alene Art Auction, located in Hayden, Idaho, specializes in the sale of Western, wildlife and sporting art. Their 2006 auction held in Reno, Nevada, realized a new record total of $27,397,040, featuring major works of both contemporary artists and past masters.
